Family Affairs

Can anybody tell me why mothers and daughters ALWAYS seem to end up in arguments?? Or is it just my mother and me??
So the two men in my life (hubby and son) and me plan a weekend trip to my mom. Expected to have a relaxing time, close to the baltic sea, enjoying the last days of sunny weather. And then what happens? First day goes well, second day starts wonderful goes on even better only to end up with arguments at night!
And it´s not as if we had different opinions. No, whe just seem to speak two different languages. That is the only explanation I have. Really!
The saddest thing though, is that we drift oft and become very personal. Which really is NOT helpful for a harmonious relationship. Last sentence: "You may call me old-fashioned but I am very dissapointed that you have not asked my daughter to marry you."
WHAT?!? How did he end up in this? No answer. Seriously, it had nothing to do with the things we "talked" about before. And did she ever think of the fact that I might not want to get married again... at least not yet!
